DogsFriendly says - We've been and we loved it, we even celebrated our wedding anniversary here. A rare occasion when we could have our dogs along.

DogsFriendly says - We have been watching this pub for a while but hadn't been too impressed with the emptyness of the place. We think however that it is now under new management and an extensive refurbishment programme took place over the winter (2008) We also noticed that writ bold outside "Dogs Welcome" So we had to give it a try.

There is a large area of the pub where you can take your dogs and one food only area. The service was pleasant and efficient and the food looked good although we are yet to try the fayre ourselves.
There is a large patio outside and safe away from any busy traffic (It's at the end of the road before the country park)

We shall be frequenting this pub more often as the summer approaches and will add other comments as and when we can.

This pub could not be any nearer to the Adams Hill part of Worcestershire's beautiful Clent Hills with views to the Brecon Beacons to the West and the Malvern Hills to the south. Why not park up in the public car park do a loop of the hills and work up a thirst, It has all the makings of a good finish to a bracing walk!

The Maelog Lake Hotel has new owners in John and Alex Timpson, who bought the property following the success with The White Eagle, a pub just across the bay in Rhoscolyn that they fully rennovated in 2007.

By following the simple recipe (pardon the pun) and offering a selection of good quality food along side a range of real ales, the White Eagle quickly built its reputation and it looks like Maelog Lake Hotel is set to follow.
The above is as described by their website. As a visitor however, I can add that the food was very well presented and of a high quality. My wife had a chicken ceasar salad which was very good and I plumped for burger and chips on this occasion. Forget the image of a fast food chain burger 'restaurant' this burger was melt in the mouth excellent.

We ate outside as it was a nice day but your dogs are allowed in the public bar area of the hotel.

Good food a warm welcome and warm fires!
great views and plenty of seating both inside and out.
